Variations — Performance at Castel Paris
On 13 January 2026, Marie De Decker presented Variations at Castel Paris as part of the LHOOQ programme, curated by Agathe Anglionin.

Working on a glass surface covered with gold, the artist intervened through subtraction. The drawing appeared not through the addition of a line, but through the gradual removal of matter, allowing light to pass through the surface.

The performance made visible what usually remains concealed: the attention preceding action, hesitation, rhythm and the decisions through which a form emerges. Every gesture was irreversible.

Live music accompanied the work without illustrating it. Sound and drawing unfolded as parallel structures, opening a shared space of perception with the audience.
