Drawings and performances

Drawing appears in Marie De Decker’s practice as a direct gesture, never as a preparatory stage. On paper or cotton, gold captures a sensation, a movement of light, a form in the process of becoming.

When this gesture opens to the public, it becomes performance: body, music and moving image compose a space of presence in which time slows down.
