From May 21 to 25, 2025, artist and artisan Marie De Decker will exhibit at the Révélations Biennial at the Grand Palais in Paris — one of the world’s leading events for fine crafts.

An Invitation to the Heart of Living Matter
From a small village on the shores of the Indian Ocean named Poudre d’Or, Marie draws her inspiration from mangroves, shimmering waters, feathers, and seashells. Her works are extensions of those suspended moments. She works with over 27 shades of unvarnished gold, applying them with a reinvented gesture — without filter, without artifice.
Each piece is a unique creation, conceived as a visual ritual, an experience of light. Far from decorative gold, this is gold that inhabits and dresses space — connecting the fragility of the living with the eternity of metal.
Gilding Reimagined at the Crossroads of Knowledge
Trained in photography and applied arts, Marie invented her own supports: a blend of scallop shells and plant starch, shaped by heat into a sculptable material. This artisanal and ecological process creates an organic base where gold can freely converse with light, memory, and gesture.
Her works transcend traditional frames — they float, inhabit space, and evoke silence and contemplation. Whether in gilded photographs, precious boxes, or golden thread sculptures, everything she creates breathes sacredness without dogma, poetry without excess.
International Recognition and Exceptional Collaborations
Selected as a solo artist for Révélations — alongside master artisans from around the world — Marie De Decker asserts her unique voice. She is represented by galleries in Nice (Elie Art) and Mauritius (Adamah Fine Art), has collaborated with Cartier, and exhibited at the Cannes Film Festival, Paris Design Week, and the Ritz Paris.
